About me
My name is Akiva van Koningsveld LLB, a pro-Israel advocate passionate about bridging the gap between Israel and Europe.
Since January 2021, I have been working for HonestReporting as an editor. HonestReporting monitors the news for bias, inaccuracy, or other breach of journalistic standards in coverage of the Arab-Israeli conflict. It also facilitates accurate reporting for foreign journalists covering the region.
Before my aliyah, I worked as a policy officer at the Center for Information and Documentation Israel (CIDI) in The Hague, The Netherlands’ leading organization dedicated to combating antisemitism and spreading awareness of the Arab-Israel conflict. At CIDI, I worked on promoting pro-Israel bills in parliament, fighting media bias and exposing the antisemitic, pro-terror nature of the BDS campaign.
I studied journalism at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. In 2020, I graduated from Utrecht University with a degree in Dutch law (LLB), focusing on the intersection of human rights and civil liability. Currently, I am pursuing an LLM in International Law at the Open University.
As part of the DigiTell network, I was awarded with a Certificate of Excellence by The Jerusalem Post and Israeli Minister Gilad Erdan (Strategic Affairs) at The Jerusalem Post’s Annual Conference of 2019. The certificate recognized my “exemplary work in leading online activism against the Israel boycott movement, antisemitism on social media, and presenting Israel as a vibrant democracy and its contribution to the world”.
In my free time I like to read, travel around Israel and run long distances. In 2015, I finished the New York City Marathon in 04:00:03.

2021 - present Since January 2021, I have been working for HonestReporting as an editor. 2015 - 2019 In November 2015, I was elected to be member of the board of CIJO, the largest pro-Israel youth movement of The Netherlands. Between December 2017 and June 2019, I served as chairman of the organization.2015

2014 - 2015 Between July 2014 and November 2015, I worked as an editor at the news desk of NU.nl, the most popular online news brand in the Netherlands. Every month, NU.nl reaches an average of more than 7 million unique Dutch people.2014
